What you mean the rivalry it once was? Haven't the Lions had the Tomcats number as of late?

Bobby Anderson is a great player I take the Lions but Cats are still good

When I say "once was", that references back to the early - mid 90's... :)

You must be a young one lol. If you weren't around for those games in the mid to late 90's you missed out on a very heated rivalry. Those two schools literally hated each other back then.

Ahh I understand, it's the same way without a lot of rivalries now though.

I thought he meant one sided in favor of the Tomcats, I didn't know we were talking rivalry intensity. I've heard stories about the games back then.

Yeah there have been a lot of rivalries that have essentially dissolved in this area over the past 10-15 years.

Can't get away with as much, but the 62nd district games that I attend (East-West, East-Elliott, East-Morgan, and Elliott-Morgan) all seem to be good rivalries if both teams are good. But I thinks a lot of it plays into sportsmanship and kids are preached to be respectful and such, not a bad problem to have. Decreasing school pride could play a role too.

Or the fact that you graduated and now have perspective that it just wasn't that big a deal as we all like to think it was.

IMO the best rivalries in the 16th are now in the areas you mentioned.
