QB vs. RB= totally different scenario. Teams already don't value runners, they will downgrade a runner that is viewed as a potential distraction.

 

I don't believe this one incident will impact draft status on its own, but it will come up in draft rooms and make teams due a little extra due diligence on Zeke.

On PTI tonight Michael Wilbon said that he doesn't think Elliott should have said what he said, but he believes Urban Meyer has handled this perfect. He believes Ohio State and specifically Urban Meyer can sort of rally the troops off of this and put that chip back on their shoulders that has been missing all year. Do you agree?

 

Here is the thing with or without Zeke's comments. OSU would have made changes for the better after losing. They would have out with more fire and intensity than they have all year since they finally realized they can't just go through the motions.

 

I think they come out and look great and people will say it was because of that. When in reality I think they would have bounced back and played great without those comments ever being made.

My only question to all of you that are trashing Zeke, is how bad really was this? Should he have kept this in the locker room? Probably. But this is far from being a real issue IMO. Would you rather him say the whole cliche "we just didn't execute and we've just got to do a better job of executing in the future." I don't. I want him to say what he said, I want the truth from players. No one could have executed that gameplan and won that game. Zeke didn't lie, he only told the cold hard truth. You all are acting like Urban Meyer is going to get his feelings hurt because one of his players said the coaches had a bad game plan. Urban Meyer has probably the thickest skin of anyone in football, everything he went through at Florida and you all think he should be bothered by this? This should be a non-story outside of Columbus. Zeke was frustrated after the game and shouldn't have talked to the media at all, but if you want him to talk and say something other than what he said, then you're the problem not Ezekiel Elliott. It is absolutely frustrating to watch espn or listen to sports talk radio and all you hear is how Zeke shouldn't say that, Urban Meyer has 3 championships. I guess Ohio State was just overrated anyways. If you came away from that game feeling that Ohio State was overrated, you are simply wrong. They still have more talent than any team in the country, they just had probably the worst game plan in the history of game plans and lost a game they should have won easily.

 

We have already debated this however you seem to think since it was the truth that means it is OK. So you are fine if we start seeing this everywhere. What about if a running back runs for two hundred yards, but his qb has a bad game and defense gives up 40 points. Does it become ok then to go to the media and say well you know what I played a great game and did everything I could. However my teammates didn't do their part, they didn't play like I did, etc. I mean even though that is the truth, should that be the stuff that is OK to be said?

 

I mean we really could see this after every game a team loses because I guarantee some player on a losing team had a legit truthful complaint they can make.

 

It's simple there was no need for those comments point blank and you supporting it, makes it seem like that would be an ok thing if everyone starts doing it.
