Trinity's Fisher Named State's Offensive Player of the Year

Featured Replies

Trinity’s Greg Fischer was named the state’s Offensive Player of the Year by the Kentucky Soccer Coaches Association. Henry Clay’s Aime Mabika took Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Fischer had 16 goals and 28 assists in leading the Shamrocks to a 21-2-2 season that ended with a loss to Covington Catholic in the quarterfinals of the state tournament.

Other award winners were Fern Creek’s John Pedro (Large School Coach of the Year), Kentucky Country Day’s Barnard Baker (Private School Coach of the Year), Mercer County’s Garrett Stark (Small School Coach of the Year), Fern Creek’s Kornell Hilliard (Golden Boot), Fern Creek’s Jacob Teasley (Silver Boot) and Hopkinsville’s Ricky Gillsespie (Good Hands).

The KSCA no longer names a Mr. Soccer winner.

Congrats, Greg.

Congrats to the award winners. I think Jeremy Robertson would have been a good pick for private school coach of the year bringing the first state championship to NKY.

Congrats to all winners. It's Ricky Gillispie for the Good Hands award.
