November 16, 201510 yr 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT Someone on another board said it would have to be a welder with tunsen inert gas capabilities whatever that means, just sounds expensive. I talked to the company that I use to repair alloy rims. They told me that in their opinion any time a rim has a crack it should not be repaired. Aluminum is very tricky to work with and the crack probably goes farther than you can see with the naked eye. Rims can be repaired if the damage is cosmetic. Slight bends can be repaired. My advise is to stay away from crack.
