The Scribe
How much is your school increasing ticket prices for the playoffs? Is this a normal thing or are more schools resorting to this because they know fans of the four seed aren't going to travel 150 miles one-way for a likely running clock game and they need to make up the loss at the gate? I've seen anywhere from six to eight dollars already.
ed2
I thought post season was dictated by KHSAA and regular school issued passes we not valid.

The Scribe
Really? Six dollars seems kind of low. I know the teams split the gate. Interesting.
Ram
Really? Six dollars seems kind of low. I know the teams split the gate. Interesting. That's been the rub for some years. The KHSAA sets the price and dictates the split with the visiting team and the visiting team often brings only a few fans. For example: a few years ago, Raceland hosted a first round game against a team that brought two (2), exactly two, fans. Raceland had to split the gate with that team and lost money on hosting a playoff game. This has happened many times.
Clyde
From reading this from the KHSAA it sounds like the home team sets the admission price with agreement from the visiting team. http://khsaa.org/football/footballplayoffinstructionswithforms.pdf Page 4 under "Required Agreement On Arrangements"

Splitting is the common way to do it. http://khsaa.org/football/footballplayoffinstructionswithforms.pdf Top of page

Tommy2tone
set the price at 6 or whatever. Make sure home team gets all expenses paid then do whatever with it. Home team should never lose money and IMO visiting team should have transportation paid. What I hate, is that students should get a discount rate. So many schools throughout the state do not do this. IMO students should be admitted free to their home school games and then minor cost for playoffs. School spirit is what it is all about.

In years past Coopers fans have outnumbered the home team fans many times. Not always mind you but they travel very well. 2012 and 2013 they not only filled the entire visitors stands but had standing room only around the field. I was only stating the experience I have witnessed over the last several years. But, I bet Brossard gets a good gait for a first round game. Plus, Cooper has Raceland ties, that's why they have such a large traveling crowd. lol

After that there is no issue with splitting it 50/50. Traveling expenses aren't cheap when you charter a couple busses for what could be 10+ hours sometimes.
