Deming led most of the game, once as many as 17 pts. but fatigue and lack of bench(subs) was deciding factor, Coach Hinson and the Saints kept fighting to win this game.

Couple of pleasent surprises in this game being that Luke and Kyle King for Deming looked pretty good and seem to be comfortable playing against a varsity team, yes they're only 8th graders but didn't seem to be scared at all playing against older players, they seem like they were just having fun, made several good plays, Billy Graves is back after a season that shortened for him

last season due to a stress fracture he looked pretty good to me, Travis Massey does what he does best, intercepting passes, drives in the lane and 2 3's on the game, I'm sure by the the time the season starts all of Deming's players will be back and we'll see how far they need to go, but like I said not many players for the black devils squad to choose from in this game, hopefully everyone will be back next game, Thursday against Williamstown. I also like the play of Jarrod White and Jonathen Caldwell, another 8th grader, did pretty good for the devils too.

It was Jaimie Johnson and Aaron Massey was officaiting, don't know if that means Johnson's the new coach, but I can't say for sure, some think he is.

From a very good source I hear Johnson will end up w/the job. They are trying to work through some issues and once they do Johnson should be hired. I think he will work very hard and do a good job at Deming.

 

His lack of head coaching experience worries me some, but if he surrounds himself w/good assistants he should be fine. Everyone has to start out as a new head coach at some point!

Coaching at Deming will test anybody, but there are worse places to coach a team at then Mt.Olivet. If he can take what's dealt to him here win 13-18 games then that would be a success.

Probably so...but let's wait and see, to early to judge who's gonna do what on any given day/game, with any small school you have to go with what you have. Expectations as always on a high at Deming, community support has never been a problem, the people here always wants the kids to do good.

I do believe there's a game today(Thursday) with Williamstown at 4:00 this afternoon.

I believe the cats out of the bag, he's been coaching the boys every game this summer so far, the games were setup by Aaron Massey from last year.
