The Spartans step out of class and state to host Pope John Paul II out of Tennessee. For South Warren, it's a chance to complete a perfect 10-0 regular season and keep alive a home winning streak that has now reached 21 in a row - the Spartans haven't lost at home since October 4th, 2012 and have won 26 of 27 at home. The Pope John Paul II Knights have a seemingly pedestrian 2-7 record, but have played a brutal schedule that has included the likes of Brentwood Academy, Montgomery Bell Academy, Baylor, McCallie, and Ensworth. The Spartans figure to be the favorite, but could dynamics be affected by a desire to rest banged up players to get ready for the playoffs?

JP2 doesn't look able to put up much resistance despite the brutal schedule. They have been clobbered week after week and likely are just ready for the pain to end.

Compare them to a NewCath from Kentucky according to their maxpreps ranking... and not as good as Owensboro Catholic

 

As mentioned they will probably not be bringing their A game as well after a tough season
