Need information on these two teams...

Featured Replies

I'm archiving some old game film for Rockcastle County and I have run across two scrimmage games. The tape is labeled but after watching the film I am unsure who the Rockets are playing. The film is labeled as South Hopkins and Fulton County. One team has blue helmets and the other has white helmets. Both teams are blue. The only distinguishing factor that I can come up with is one team has Tomcats on their back. Who would this be?

Please note that this is a 1988 game film so the school mascot may have changed, I'm just not sure.

Thanks

I don't know of anyone else who uses our name: The Ashland Tomcats

But we've always been Maroon- no blue at all. Could the colors have been off on the camera or changed over the years? I know nothing about film.

if it was 1988, then PM onetoya on here and he for sure can tell you if Ashland scrimmaged Rock back them. FYI: the HC for us then was Vic Marsh

Another consideration is if it's a team from Tenn or WV, or jerseys borrowed at a camp setting.

Good luck, Woody Jr

Rockcastle may have been scrimmaging at Dawson Springs. Cawood used to go there in the summers when Larkey was an assistant with coach Cullivan. I think there was a South Hopkins that became part of Hopkins Central after a merger.

South Hopkins was the Tomcats ... colors were red, white and blue, if I'm not mistaken. Fulton County's colors are light blue and gold.

Westsider, that was what I was looking for. The camp was in Monticello at Jabez.
