Baltimore officer spits on handcuffed man

Featured Replies

The Baltimore Police Department has launched a criminal and internal investigation after a video surfaced that allegedly shows an officer spitting on a man on the ground.

The incident occurred between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Monday at Old York Road and Rose Hill Terrace in northeast Baltimore's Pen Lucy neighborhood.

Witnesses told 11 News that officers ordered several people to move off the steps of a building.

Multiple cellphone cameras were rolling when this happened. A copy of a couple videos obtained by 11 News shows a man being arrested. One of the officers appears to spit on him, and the crowd around him reacts.

Could a Mod please correct the typo in the title? Thank you.

Glad to see that the department has moved from an IA to a criminal investigation. Sounds like they are trying to do the right thing. No cause for a police officer to do that. The officers that stood there and didn't do anything after he spit on the victim should be charged or at least lose their jobs as well. The Baltimore Police are a mess right now.

Baltimore PD should just assume that every interaction they have will be filmed.

Pretty dumb if they don't.

I think it's next week that all officers start wearing body cams there. I was surprised that this officer had something like 34 years experience.
