Yes the card was changed to a yellow.

Here is a clip of the foul that resulted in the PK being awarded. It was not until I saw this video that I realized that the goalie could actually have been called for two fouls, my view was blocked and I did not see the initial contact that knocked Snow off balance. It also appears that I was way off base in my initial comments, his second attempt at stopping him was more like a tackle from behind.... not at all what I gave him credit for.

 

Omg someone actually had the guts to post a video of a controversial play. Good call, good card, no red. Clearly more defenders to beat at the time of the foul.

Looks like the gk tries to tackle him from behind though....no attempt on the ball or anything.

I'm more impressed with the pass across field. Good vision and accurate!

Bad technique by the Conner goalie. He went in too high. He clearly needs to go to football practice in July and learn how to sink the hips, head and eyes up with head away and to side of contact, using the front of the shoulder as point of contact, drive through the opponent, thrusting the hips forward and upwards, and at the same time shoot double upper cuts grabbing the opponents jersey as he runs through the opponent. With the point of impact just below the shoulder blades he could have lifted Snow off the ground and planted him face first on the turf enabling his teammates to take the ball and mount a run up the side.

 

It was just poor technique that led to the PK. I suspect Connor's coach will work on that with the boys for next year.

OG, your right, gotta question the technique that was used. On the flipside, kudos to the offense.

 

This play started with good recognition of the player in space and a great ball that switched the field, and point of attack. At this point the recipient of the pass just had to run onto the ball and attack the defense. The player did a good job of maintaining his balance after taking the first hit, gathering in the ball, and then getting positive yardage after initial contact. Although the defender was able to get back into the play he was still not successful in bringing him down from behind. The player fought through this tackle as well only to have more defenders to deal with. At this point, the referee stopped play and awarded a scoring chance.

Snow has GPS or RFID technology in his boots that help team mates locate him... just saying.
