On the fence right now, P88. Will see X tonight in the Rivalry game and I can only tell you that Manual was the best defense the Rocks faced last year. Many of the same names and faces for the Crimsons.

 

Seems like a lot of the X folks talk about some of the deficiencies up front for the Tigers. Manual will be as big and physical up front as anyone in the state. Very serviceable guys all the way around at the skill spots. We all know X is full of athletes and hogs on both sides as well.

 

Did BG scrimmage Manual this year? You might have the best pre game assessment for the BG Preps audience. I would say the game is a pick em right now. How about you?

I went to the BG v Manual scrimmage this August and BG came out on top (if you want to call it that in a scrimmage), but I was really impressed with Manuals lines. My goodness they were big. BG did well just to nuetralize them and then swing the ball to their skill guys wide and they took it from there. My daughter goes to Manual and we went to the Ballard v Manual game. It was a great back and forth game. The thing about this particular game was the struggles of SR QB Tim Comstock, who is a very good player but he turned the ball over several times in this game and it really cost the Crimsons. I believe he may have turned the ball over in the BG scrimmage as well. As you mentioned, tough defense, great lines and very serviceable skill guys.

 

I've been to all the relatively recent X vs BG games and this years game was X's most impressive IMO. They jumped on BG from the opening kick and never really let up. Their shotgun standard formation where they ran out of it really gave BG fits (especially early). Don't know what happened to X in the Central game, but know Central is a good team too.

 

SO, for the X v Manual game, my gut tells me that the team who's QB plays best will win. Oh and the backup Manual QB did a fine job v Ballard. Let's see how the X v T game goes tonight and talk after that.

 

I may try to go to the big game too as long as it doesn't pour rain.:thumb:

Totally agree Pep! Don't think Manual is better than T or H, but they can hang with those guys for a while. Think Manual is likely prone to very costly turnovers at critical times that can cost them the game. Very good team though. We'll see.
