As far as Monroe "beating themselves"? Three interceptions and two fumbles. Did not look like the QB threw to the FS defenders intentionally nor did he he appear to drop the ball on the two yard line going in to score. He got hit and the ball stripped. The other fumble the back ran into three or four defenders and the ball hit the ground.

 

FS rushed for over 350 yards.

That was her first varsity action. She filled in when the guy who had been handling EP was injured. All her kicks looked good, quick elevation and good distance. She is one of if not the best all around athlete at FS.

Best of all she is an academic powerhouse.

Monroes Defense has stepped up tremendously this year not counting the Bg game, has only allowed 13 points for any other team. So i have to say Monroes Offense was not the only thing that allowed them to get beat. FS ran it down monroes throat and it was basically from the same play. As far as offense i have no comment. Although, to me it seems they started the game very flat and didnt really pick it up till a few min in the 4th. Not the same Monroe team i saw in the first couple of games and i hope they are not getting the Big head syndrome from getting a few wins this early in the season! Hopefully this is a wake up call for them and they pull their heads out of the clouds. If not i think it may be a battle for district @ Glasgow. FS deserved this win and they showed a lot of class. I dont think they are ready to go head to head against south warren in district play but on friday nights anything can happen. Thats why you play the game! Good luck to both teams.

FS made some defensive adjustments this week and the run defense was excellent. Monroe has a good passing game. FS is too one dimensional to beat a team like SW. I like the wing t but you have to have more than three plays to be successful unless you have a lot of Trinity type talent. FS has a really good QB whose talents are largely being wasted. FS ran one series out of a shotgun in their scrimmage and looked great. Haven't seen it since except for the last 40 seconds of one game. Hope they are saving it for South Warren but we will see.

Monroe had a long pass just off the fingertips of one receiver that would have been a TD and had another pass caught on the end line that was called incomplete. Looked like the right call but was really close. FS jumped offside on a 4th and 4 then Monroe had a TD pass on the next play on what looked like a blown coverage. Monroe QB Arnett was really good but it seemed they relied too much on the pass. First drive of the game Monroe had 1st and goal at the 5 and rolled out to pass which was intercepted. 4 running plays probably gets them a TD there. Don't think Monroe will lose many games at all in 2A. I think they beat Glasgow for the district but probably fall to DeSales in the region final. Kudos to the Falcons for playing a tough schedule...BG, FS, North Hardin and finishing with Wayne Co. Good luck to Monroe the rest of the way.
