What do you mean? I thought Southwestern was supposed to be pretty good this year.

They actually fared a little better than expected.

 

Southwestern is a Top 5 or 6 team in 5A.

I'm shocked by this score, I really thought SW would be much better this season than they have shown. I expected SW to win this one easily. Looks like the Redhounds bowed their necks and put up quite a fight tonight.

That's what I keep thinking but they haven't been looking like it. I really expected them to challenge Pulaski, now I'm not sure if they can stay within 3 or 4 TDs of them.

Southwestern really lacks team speed. They have a few nice pieces on both sides, but they are kind of lumbering by and large.

 

I dont think they have a shot at a Title Run... but they are the last team you want to face when it is muddy and raining on a cold November night

A really good effort from the Redhounds tonight. They had to start 3 freshman due to having 4 starters out with injuries, but hung tough and had a shot to take the lead late, but Southwestern stiffened up down inside the 10 and stopped Corbin on downs.

 

Southwestern has a really good defensive team, but are a little one dimensional offensively.

Once Corbin gets through this Mayfield game I think you will see their confidence grow and the lessons learned from this 3 game stretch of competition to hit home.

 

I think Corbin at the end of October is a much more tougher team than Corbin at the end of September.

They desperately need to get Coby Cima back, the offensive line has not been the same the last couple of weeks with him out. He was 1 of only 2 seniors starting offensively. They are a year(only started 5 seniors tonight) or so away from being a real threat in the playoffs, but a lot of young kids are getting vital experience that can do nothing but help them develop.
