I was told by a public school teacher, KY public teachers get a pay rank, 1, 2 or 3.

1 is the highest pay rank. Having a PhD assures you a 1 rank. My source may have left off the part about needing so many years in the school system.

 

Either way being more educated (and more experienced) is always a good thing.

I'll take a USSF grade 6 with 10 years experience over a grade 8 with a week experience every game, and I'm even willing to chip in some $ to make sure it happens.

Agreed but I think it is all a dream. Club soccer is a cash cow and they have the luxary to pay for such things and demand the quality. High school soccer is a black sheep in KY and simply does not have the resources to develop refs like ussf.

There are only two grade 6 in NKY and maybe 20 in southern ohio and they are getting the top games at the older ages so if you get a 7 (maybe 5 in nky) or 8 that is pretty good you are doing alright.

That all comes from a certain soccer organization not wanting to sanction their adult league. We asked one of our instructors about it once and he was less than pleased.
