The Indians of Holy Cross pretty much dominated the entire tournament. However in the second round they faced a very good Lloyd team and edged past them 5-3. The Scott Eagles led by Graham came out of the losers bracket by coming back from a 12-3 deficit and winning the game in the last inning. Holy Cross then trounced Scott in the championship game to win state for the second year in a row. Congrats to all the young ladies who participated in this fine event and thanks to khsaa for having such a smooth running tournament where each game was announced.

How many teams are even in the so called slow pitch softball state tourney these days? 4 times would you know? Regardless someone still has to win and I congratulate the Indians on their win..

To be fair, there are more than 4 in the entire tourney. Sure, its only NKY but I'm guessing its somewhere around 15 to 20 teams.

Sorry for the misunderstanding cshs81 but 4 times is someone I know and I was not suggesting that was all that was in the tourney. Wasn't trying to belittle or take anything away from the Indians.

I'm pretty sure that there are 20 teams that play slow pitch. They had Regionals last weekend and the winners and runner-ups made it to state. I have 3 sister-n-laws that play for HC. Congrats on the Re-peat and going 30-1!

8 teams in the state tournament and 20 in the regionals(4 regions - 5 teams each).

Actually two regions had 4 teams and two regions had 5 teams it was a total of 18 teams. There were 20 teams in last years regionals because of Covington Latin and NCC. Covington Latin wasnt eligible for the state oturnament because they didn't field a fast pitch team for atleast 10 games and as we all know NCC converted totally to fast pitch.
