Hardin County Preps
The bulldogs return plenty of firepower on offense. Back are senior QB Shay Stone, junior fullback Antonio Ayers, junior halfbacks Robert Shorter and Kory Cleveland. Sophomore halfbacks Tyler Reinheimer, and Steven Livers add to an explosive backfield. Five keys to the season: 1. Ball Security. The Bulldogs turned the ball over with regularity last season with fumbles being the main problem. Coach Lewis did a breakdown and turnovers led to more than 90 points for their opponents. Eliminating turnovers could be the difference between being good or great. 2. Spreading the Wealth. With the plethora of options in the offensive backfield, coming up with the right rotation of halfback and fullbacks based on game situations and the strengths of each back could be key this season. 3. Avoiding Injuries. Last season, both starting halfbacks went down with ACL injuries as did tackle Dakota Pritchard. Those injuries caused players to miss more than 30 games. 4. Developing Receiving Options. The problem, is that the Bulldogs only return 2 players, halfbacks, who caught passes last season. Chad Lewis thinks that there is talent at wide-out this year but doesn't know who might emerge to replace the deep play threat of wide receiver C.J. Hill. 5. Putting the D Back in Defense. The Bulldogs could have one of their biggest defensive fronts. Lewis has depth at tackle with as many as six players rotating in, to go along with stalwart ends Thomas Rogers and Trevan Wright. This Could be a typical run-stuffing John Hardin defense
hoss403
The Witherspoon suspension will hurt this team but they will improve every game and be in the running at the end of the year. I'm excited to see the 6'7" 315 pound transfer when he starts playing. I've heard he will be on the D Line.

I think he just started practicing this week. Didn't participate in the scrimmage.
Purple88
Thanks! I'm sure a kid of that size can make a big difference. I suppose he would dress for Saturday but just not play yet? Regardless, I'm sure he will stand out, kinda like Elam did.
