July 27, 201511 yr Classroom management is probably the hardest part of being a teacher. It's tough to be consistent, when each kid is so different. I agree with NNN that emotions need to be removed from delivering consequences. However, emotions shouldn't be removed from teaching all together. If you, as a teacher, are not enthusiastic about what you are delivering, then there is zero chance the students will be. Also, when praising students, I think teachers should refrain from telling students "good job." A better thing to say is "I can tell you've been working hard." The idea of someone coaching you while you are in the process of teaching is stupid too.
