Tophat is a very good team! I for one was surprised to see the backup goalie playing for KHA. Especially after the coach was quoted in the paper as saying everyone plays half the game in showcases to get exposure but when your playing in NL games or the National Championships you play your best players. Scratching my head at that one. Might not have changed the outcome but if your only down 1-0 at half instead of 3-0 its a different game..

Playing a backup keeper is a little perplexing. As you said, might not have changed the outcome but being down 2-0 five minutes into the match is tough to overcome and I think the 3rd goal was scored about 10 minutes later.

I think in some cases, yes, there is a marked difference.

Absolutely

I don't know anything about either one the two keepers but generally speaking at this level if a top quality keeper is not the number one they will move to another club where they will be the number one, especially at U16 or younger. With that said I would be surprised if there is not a difference to some degree in the quality of the two keepers.

Was their number one keeper hurt, on a red card,??? There may be a reason the backup was in the game other then the coach just decided to play the backup.

No injury or card. Just the coach deciding to play the backup keeper in a must win game. I understand if they lose that game and are out of moving onto the semi finals playing the backup tomorrow. Good Luck to both teams tomorrow.

Barring a huge let down, they are up 2-1 in the 82nd today. A tie will get them into the semis.

They won 2-1, play in the Semis on Saturday.
