How about a little parenting..............

My point is that Haworth and hoptown are using these kids. Not helping to prepare them for college. It's nice to win, but high school shouldn't be the pinnacle of these kid's careers. Haworth has 5 years worth of track record at hoptown. it's abysmal as far as getting kids, (as students or players) to the next level.

This school he went to is a really good juco school! Think the team went 22-4 last year! WKU was interested in him and probably would have signed him but was going to redshirt him his freshman year. Matlock wanted to be able to play immediately. Out of all the people on this website I have never seen someone bash a certain school as much as above, nothing good to say just hops on here when its time to talk negative. Be happy for a kid who has a chance to do something with his life and has a talent in a sport. So what he didn't sign with a d-1 right out of high school.

I don't see a certain someone hopping on christian county because Jalen went back to play for them saying hes not gonna be eligible and etc etc etc, but if it happens at Hopkinsville High they are low down dogs.

He is much better then this. Must have academic issues. Motlow is in Tennessee.

Hayworth get a bad wrap for the coach with the highest winning percentage in regional history or for that reason mabybe Kentucky history. Hoptown has helped UHA players and county players get in college and they have actually had two d1 players Jordan Majors and Trey Edwards. They come to open gyms looking for help after the senior year is over. Hoptown also has placed 18 out of 20 players in college. The bench players are going Ky weslyan where county and UHA starters are going, if they qualify for d1 they will go from hoptown. Look for the best season ever from hoptown this year 2015-2016.

Looks like Matlock is no longer at Motlow; anyone know where he is now?

Last I heard( which was over the summer) he wasn't going back to Motlow and wasn't enrolled at any college. I saw him a couple times around town over the summer. I'd like to hear if anyone has any updated information on him, it'll be a shame if he doesn't stick with basketball I enjoyed watching him over his 4 years.

He was doing great there and would have certainly picked up some offers. I hate that he didnt' go back.

He may go the Greenville and play for Coach Eades and his staff? They are such a great program?

There's nothing wrong with going to a JUCO, getting used to the pace of college life and basketball, then getting a 2nd chance at a D1 school.
