I heard this case discussed several years ago on some TV program...they said in today's legal climate Manson would have been hard to convict of murder since he wasn't at either scene. He might have gotten 10-20 but they all thought that he would have been out for several years by know if things were then as they are now.

 

You are probably right. Thank goodness he was convicted when he was!

The real crime is that Manson was sentenced to death but that reverted to life when CA did away with the death penalty for a while.
