Eli Wright picked up an offer from UConn on Sunday. A Nesmith & McDonalds All-American voter tweeted that he will be on the watch lists after his performances this weekend. He is really starting to blow up.

Hearing a lot of rumors flying about the other players leaving the program. Before its all said and done, Apollo may be a shell of its former self. We'll see how it plays out but i fully expect Wright to attend prep school at this point.

Are you at liberty to say who the other players are?

I understand that kids have to do what is best for them, but selfishly I would hate to see any of them leave. I was really looking forward to seeing what this team could do next season.

Every person i talk to says something different. The players in question, aside from Wright, are Young & Moss. Ive also heard some names tossed around about a few players that may move in to play at Apollo?? Everything is up in the air for now. Guess we'll know more when school starts up.

I understand why Eli Wright would consider prep school to get better exposure and face better competition every practice and game. It is just sad that Apollo is a serious contender for the state championship (if they can keep it together in the postseason) and may fall out of being a favorite for the 3rd region because of a transfer. That roster has some serious talent and a lot of people statewide don't know that 2015 state champion Owensboro lost the district championship to Apollo.

I watched Hopkinsville new improved team beat them by 37 points while missing a couple of players and Apollo had all their players there, with hoptowns super sophomores, Jalen Johnson and Steven Cager both go for 25 on them. Apollo may be a little overrated.

Judging by some of your posts you are obviously a Hoptown homer. Everyone tries to jump the gun based on summer ball when it actually provides very little insight to how good a team will be that year. Since you are a Hoptown guy how do you know for sure that Apollo had all of their players? Very rarely do you see a team play with every key player in the summer. Apollo may very well be overrated but I wouldn't use summer ball as my justification. As far as new improved Hoptown I wouldn't be surprised if Hoptown is the second best team in Hopkinsville this year. If Christian County really got Sebree they may have moved ahead of them.

Definitely not but it was a team camp coached by their high school coaches and everyone had something to prove, I was at the Apollo game in Murray all three of their top dogs were there, county may have as far record but they have the 58th stregnth of schedule and Hopkinsville has 8th, beating two nationally ranked teams when everyone was healthy. Stay tuned the game is Jan. 30! You will see!
