What does East Carter need to do to improve in 2015? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

I believe this is the year East Carter gets back in the playoffs after I think a 10 year drought. Moving up to 4A may be believed to be tougher but I disagree. I believe that 4A is indeed better at the top two teams (this is talking about the districts they were in compared to the one now). But, overall I believe the 3A district they had was much tougher than this 4A one and East only graduated maybe 7 players if that so they won't have to replace much.

 

Taylor Hickle is a sophomore QB with a good arm who will take over as the full time starter. Darin Phillips is a now experienced senior tailback who has been hitting the weights hard and is working hard every day. Cameron Rowe has the ability to play tailback but will mostly play receiver I believe. Very fast sophomore. Josh Ford is a sophomore back who can contribute as well.

 

I believe East will compete this year and with new a new young head coach (27 I believe) they will turn it around this year. I could see them winning anywhere from 3-6 games and making the playoffs. The sophomore class is very talented, I believe they went to the state championship game the 7th grade year and the semi finals the 8th grade year.

I hope you are right about them turning the corner this season. It has been a while since they were competitive (2005 was their last winning record). I hope this new coach gets something going for the sake of their program.

I have faith that this could be a turning point in the program. May be biased, but I believe they can do it. I don't believe they are as talented as the 13-14 team that won 4 games (well technically 4 counting Fairview). But I believe the district schedule is easier and there's a more positive vibe around the program.

I wish East Carter the best but I do not understand the thinking on the district schedule being easier. JC and Ashland are going to be 1-2 each year with RARE exception. Rowan Co was going to be much improved from seasons past before McPeek arrived. Greenup returns Byrd and Hunt. They will be 3-4 in the district next year. It will be a toss up on the Boyd Co game with the home team probably winning.

 

Raceland and West are both on the schedule and both will be good. Fleming Co will be a win. No other teams are listed yet on KHSAA so I cannot say yes or no on 3+ wins yet. The 2016 and 2017 seasons look to be East's best chances to make the playoffs with back to back solid SR. classes.

For sure win no but I think they will. It will be their best chance to in a long time that's is for sure.
