Letcher County Central can they improve on the 4-6 record on 2005?

Featured Replies

Letcher County Central Started their football program with a bang last year in week one of the 2005 season with, an impressive win over Estill County by the score of, 49-0 .Then in week two the new kids on the block would find themselves 2-0 after, defeating Perry County Central, 14-7. However the next win would not occur until week seven a 28-20 win over Shelby Valley. The fourth and final win of the season came in week ten over Evarts, 19-0. All in all most would agree that four wins is a good way for a new school to begin football. Now it’s almost time for the second season and the question is can they improve on the four wins?

I believe they will. What is their non district schedule? is it the same as last year. They will have a hard time with Bell, Rock, and Clay. The other district games will be interesting if they improve over last year.

Letcher has state of the art facilities, a well known coach and draws from an area (Whitesburg) that has produced some really good football teams in the past. I look for LC to be very successful in a short time. The only drawback is playing in a district with Bell, Rock, Clay, Knox Central, Madison Southern and Perry Central. A school can produce a very good football team in that district and still not even make the playoffs.

Absolutely. 4-6 in a first year program is an excellent start, especially considering that jumped right into district play. They will build a solid program at LCC, just wait an see. However, they are in a brutal district and it will be a hard road to get there. With Bell, Rock, Clay and the ever improving Knox Central & Madison Southern squads, it will not be an easy task.
