I thought NDA would be at the top this week since they beat Conner, and beat Highlands who had just beaten Conner.

Doesn't really matter...

The next 2 weeks (3 for that 1 LUCKY team) are all that really matter.

I do mean LUCKY... based on the last week or two of play, a single MOMENT in time makes all the difference in who wins or loses...

The hitting part is understood, but the two biggest factors IMO are.....the team that, plays as a team & minimizes costly mistakes goes to Owensboro.

Without question...one bad inning...one bad play...one bad base-running mistake can cost you a "W"...

Walks, errors and baserunning mistakes will cost a team a title or conversely a team that avoids same, will win a title. Rarely in a Championship game does one team dominate the other from an offensive standpoint, but we shall see.

I think when it's at the high school level....the coaches impact the game, sometimes even more so than the players come tournament time. The coach that continues to stay calm, encouraging, and keeps coaching(I'm screaming this, b/c I've seen and I've heard coaches assume that their player should know what to do..never assume with high schoolers)....... leading a team to stay focused....will normally be the team that is victorious.
