Fleming Co. Softball thoughts

Featured Replies

Since the administration at Fleming decided to get rid of their basketball coach and hire another coach, I think they need to do that with their softball coach. The one they have now isnt getting the job done. Fleming had a good coach in Boling and released him because something to do with college credits or hours which is baloney. A coach should know something about the game and be able to teach the game. There is alot of good players in that school and get slighted because their coach doesnt know anything about the game. What a shame

Those are some ballsy comments...The Fleming Co. teams I remember from when they played my sister and the Bracken CO. Lady Bears, were solid teams...Is this when they were coached by Boling? If so, then this would be the first or second year for the new coach...so is it so bad that you aren't willing to give him a shot? In softball, if you have a lot of "good players" they can still win you some games despite who you have for a coach. I just wonder if your comments were fair for the new coach? If they are, then how about helping him with softball and get him to an acceptable level?? Just some thoughts...

Looking at their records since 2002, they have ranged anywhere from 2 wins to 6 wins per season the past 5 seasons. It doens't look like the program has had much success at Fleming, even before the current coach took over.

I don't have a dog in this fight; here are Fleming County's records since 2002:

2002: 2-7, beat Harrison County and St. Patrick

2003: 2-14, beat Bath County and St. Patrick

2004: 4-15, beat Harrison County, Lexington Christian, St. Patrick (twice)

2005: 6-16, beat West Carter, Bath County, St. Patrick (4 times)

2006: 3-9, beat Menifee County, Bath County and St. Patrick

Winning percentage since 2002: .218

Yeah my comments are fair. He admittedly said he doesnt know the game. I dont care if you are certified or not, if you dont know the game you shouldnt be trying to coach the game. This is the 2nd year for Davis and thats 2 years too long. They never should have gotten rid of Boling. Good softball guy. And to some it seems the administration doesnt seem to care about girls softball anyway
