Coach Lickert is a very good coach but as the saying goes its not always the X'z and O's its the Jimmy's and Joe's. A lot of people don't realize there are eight high schools in Campbell County:

Newport

Dayton

Bellevue

Highlands

Newport Central Catholic

Silver Grove

Brossart

Campbell County

Two of those are 2 of the strongest traditional powers in the state. Many of the best players who were suppose to go to Campbell County have gone to one of these two schools. They have even lost good players to Cov Cath over the years. The years Campbell County has had their best years have been when they have kept their best talent at home. They just have to find a way to consistently do that. This has been and continues to be the biggest obstacle that the Camels face.

To the Bolded. There were only two in recent past who went to CovCath from St Joe Cold Spring and they were brothers. Currently, Highlands and NCC are the only competition for players. Eventually Brossart will be in competiton with NCC for players, but I don't see them competing with Campbell Co. IMO, stating Bellevue, Newport and Dayton, along with Silver Grove as competition for football is a stretch.

I whole heartedly agree. However, to say that Brossart will compete with NCC for football talent is crazy talk.

If Lickert can get his hands on Helton, he will benefit from a true pocket passer, pass/run QB. He's got a rocket for an arm and is one of the fastest kids on the team. I'm calling dibs on the Helton kid long before anyone on here is talking about him. The kid is special and will be a force.

Freshman to be. A very nice multi sport athlete coming down the pipe. CC does have some other QB's in the pipe now. Plessinger (SR), Cooper Gray (JR), Austin Hoeh (So).

Before that Madden and Keys went there. Not saying Campbell was ever on the radar of any of these four but that is the rub. Somehow they have to be able to keep talent like this at home. If all the players that live in Campbell County's school district had gone to school there over the years I think they would have a nice tradition in football. How do you keep them home? That was my original point.

They all sound great. These are the types of players they need to keep there every year to develop a rich tradition.

In Kenton County there at least 10 high schools.

Two more schools for twice the population and no HHS that 90% of parents have to pass within a mile of daily to get to work.
