If I told you it's Senior Night at St. Henry, the Cru shutout the Breds on 4 hits 3 weeks ago, NewCath starting pitcher Haley Meyers is home sick, and Fr. Jaden Watts would get the start.....what would you say?

 

Well it was Senior Night at St. Henry, the Cru did beat the Breds 2-0 on April 14th as both Jordan Kramer and Haley Meyers threw 4-hitters, Haley Meyers was home sick, and Fr. Jaden Watts did get the start......and threw one HELL OF A GAME!!! The freshman gave up 3 in the 1st inning, then only 4 over the next 5 innings, before giving up 4 in the final frame (3 because of the sun).

 

The NewCath defense turned in a marvelous performance, commiting 2 errors in the 1st inning, but playing error-free ball the rest of the game. The St. Henry bats were hitting some shots, but the Breds flashed some leather in this one. Loren Zimmerman with a bare-handed grab on the run for a throw out, as well as, a back hand behind the bag snag and long throw to get the runner.....flat-out impressive!!! Michaela Ware with some sweet glove work as well. Also, Casey Kohls was a home-run short of the cycle, and her final out was a "missile" to left that if only 8-10 inches higher would have went to the fence instead of the left-fielders glove. Gabby Stewart and Teresa Urban hit some "laser-beams" for the Cru as well.:eek:

 

Both teams were helped and hurt by the sun today, however, both teams hit the ball HARD!!!

Very impressive win!

Thought the young lady showed a lot of poise and pitched a good game. Cru seemed like the intensity of the prior game was not there. A lot of balls that weren't necessarily errors but plays that should have been made but weren't, were costly. Its like it all went downhill after lineups were introduced. (What an introduction--that guy was a hoot!)

Agree 100%, both teams were affected by it. Especially the bottom of the 7th, felt real bad for Lexi Breen.

 

I hear talent scouts from the Funny Bone were in attendance, might have to check their up coming line-up.
