Good game by both teams. Whelan pitching for Meade is very good, as was Suski for Male. Neither team looked anywhere near mid-season form, however, I was impressed by both considering how little time either team has had on the dirt. I predict IF Meade can develop some more productive offense out of the lower half of their lineup, they will be in very good position to spoil some Region 3 predictions. Whelan will have to stay healthy and rested, though.

It sounded like a very good game looking at the score. Great 1st game for both teams

Meade scored on a 3R home run and a squeeze play. Male left a lot of runners on the pads. Timely hitting was elusive down the stretch.

Is softball not emphasized in Northern Kentucky? NKY is so well represented in most all other sports. it seems odd not to see any NKY schools highly ranked in this sport (assuming this poll is accurate).

To be ranked in this from NKY, you have to make noise outside of NKY. And so far not a whole lotta noise has been made by NKY teams south of Walton.

Rankings in general seem to be a crap shoot. Not enough coaches take the time, and they have limited knowledge of all teams across the state. A lot of it is just name recognition or going off of last year's rankings until the season gets going.
