Great Game, lots of "E" question x coaches decisions??

Tompkins has them rolling

Play of the game turned in by Rocks right fielder Brad Pippin. With one out, runner at 1st, top of the 9th inning he chased down a fly to deep right center to rob former Rock Colt Totten:D of a sure extra base hit and possible game winning RBI. He then threw the ball to first to double off the runner who had already rounded 3rd.

X kept this closer than many, including myself, anticipated. Not a bad loss for them and congrats to T on the win.

Great game. It is always good to see the Rocks defeat the Tigers in anything. UoL has built a top-notch facility.

Not a perfect game by the Rocks, but a win is a win. Pippin should get the game ball for chasing down the long fly. Good job Coach Tompkins for keeping the kids focused.

I can't believe they played the game in a steady rain.Congrats to T go get them Tigers in the regional.

Did anyone see or know what the heck the happened in the 5th inning??? What did the umpire call? All I saw was the X players come off the field and then go back on. I know X's coach was pretty upset over the call. Did X's shortstop not step on the bag to turn the double play? I dont know if that call affected the ultimate outcome of the game but I do know as close as it was the umpire had a lot of guts to make a gutsy call like that to call the Trinity runner safe on a routine double play.

 

At any rate, 10 innings and a close game the whole way through...awesome game overall...a classic. One for the ages! Way to go Trinity
