February 28, 201511 yr Quite a story. I saw him speak at an event a few years back. People were almost crying they were laughing so loud with his stories about the Reds, Marge Schott, Shottzie, etc... Hard to not really like Casey...
February 28, 201511 yr This happened to me twice. The first time I had one in both lungs, I was on vacation and had the same symptoms as Casey had at the airport only I did not get better. I thought for sure I was having a heart attack. Extreme pain, was in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks. I was misdiagnosed by a doctor who gave me an anti-inflammatory drug before all this happened. Second time I woke up one morning and had pain in my leg behind my knee. Went to work, thought it would get better. By the end of the day I could not walk. Next day I got a doctor appointment, mentioned to him I had double pulmonary embolism in the past, he said it was not a clot. It just would not get better and pain was moving up my leg. The doctor would not refer me to get a doppler(I think that is what it was called) procedure done on the leg. After a few more days of agony, my mom asked a doctor friend if he would check it out at the hospital. They helped me up on the gurney, checked out my leg, dropped the device and told me not to move that I was going to be admitted right away. I had a very large clot between my knee and groin and it was moving. Another hospital stay and have been on Coumadin (blood thinner) ever since. I also was told I was very lucky. But what are the chances of being misdiagnosed twice?

February 28, 201511 yr I am glad things worked out for you. Not really, have residual issues since. Glad Casey is OK, he's one of the good guys in MLB.
