I wasn't at the game but this is my thouhgt, Holmes may have played bad because HC forced them to do things they didn't want to do on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. When you play bad a lot of times its because the other team is causing it.

 

I think HC is the best team in the 9th regardless how other teams played them in the regular season and I think one of their biggest assets is leadership, they never seem to panic.
