Now that we have determined the best of the best from each letter of the alphabet, it's time for the "Alphabet Tournament".

Now, it's a head-to-head contest against another letter winner in bracket form. The matchups and bracket were picked at random (except for two play-in games).

The same criteria should be used when making your pick.

* All level of play - 9th 10th 11th 12th

* Fan Support

* Coaches

* Wins

* Titles

* Facilities

* Etc.

This bracket is a three-way contest between Iroquois, Knox Central, and Valley.

The winner of this one advances to meet Glasgow.

Knox Central hasn't had a winning record in 13 years? I know they aren't going against Danville and Mayfield but am I missing something here? At least Valley was one win away from the state championship in the last decade? Do they play in a parking lot or something? Can someone help a brother out here??

I'm really quite anxious to see how you have arranged the brackets for this tournament. Were teams seeded in some fashion? It is quite obvious that the three teams in this first contest are probably the weakest on the field. Are all the private schools matched against each other in the early rounds to hasten their elimination? Are St. X./Trinity, Highlands/Covington Catholic, Paducah Tilghman/Mayfield, Danville/Boyle County, and other natural big rivalry games setup to occur in the later rounds? Will this final countdown reflect more are less "homer calls" than the showed up in the preliminary round?

With so many options available, I'm sure you have had fun with this. It may turn out to provide more drama than American Idol. :thumb: :lol: :thumb:

It was part NCAA selection Sunday, part CBS telling me what would make for great matchups down the road. There really wasn't any seeding done, but I obviously didn't match up Male and Trinity in the first round with the winner to meet St. X

Pitting the private schools against each other in the first rounds wouldn't have generated much discussion on here :lol:

I'd vote none of the above and take Glasgow in the next round:)

Three more hours to vote.

I went with Knox County, since they are getting a new field next year and new school. Deciding factor for me, they won a lot in the past as well.

I should've clarified myself, I guess. The far off past. I know in the 80's they had some good teams, that is about all I can say plus they are getting brand new facilities this year. Hey they beat Bell County in 1997, that has to count for something:eek:

If you're talking about accomplishments far back, Valley went to the finals of the State 3A Championship (there were only 3 classes then) in 1962, where they lost a tight game to St. X. Have either of the other teams ever advanced this far?

I wasn't recalling back into the 60's but thanks for the insight, I could only recall what I've heard and knew about in the early-late 80's. Plus like I said, they are getting a brand new facility.

I voted for Valley because they had at least one memorable player ... Randy Brooks.
