Who could the Celtics send to the Kings to get Boogie?

 

FWIW I'd hate to see Boogie as a Celtic...I love Boog and life long Celtic hater.

Probably send some draft picks and expiring deals.

 

Brandon Bass, Tayshaun Prince, and Marcus Thornton could be some of those, and it's expected that if Prince or Thornton isn't traded that they'll just go ahead and buy them out now.

 

Maybe some kind of three team deal makes the most sense.

Boston has a ton of trade exceptions and lots of draft picks. They can also increase their salary by $12 million without going into the luxury tax territory. Why the luxury tax is important is that the penalties you pay out for being a "repeat offender" steepen as you go. Staying out of that territory now means that they pay less when they put together a team that is a contender that they'd likely want to go over the line and into the luxury tax with if needed.

Here's a list of the Celtics picks in the next two drafts-- 10 total first rounders, though some are protected. Likely winds up being 6-7 range with the protections on Minnesota and Philadelphia protections as well as Dallas' protection on this year's.

Don't think Sac could have handled Boogie any worse than they have since drafting him.

As a Celtics fan I would love to get Boogie. Id be willing to part with anyone on our roster other than Sullinger or Smart, and throw in a handful of draft picks. I don't want Kanter unless Ainge basically steals him.

I love the Celtics. They always seem to go after the UK boys which is why they are my NBA team of choice.
