Rcc9. When hag you watched sk play this year? Just curious, you know an awful lot about them

 

Why do you ask? But I'll answer your question. I have coached and trained several of the kids at SK. I have also seen almost all of them play in AAU a ton of times. Now as far as other things about SK, some of it just their style of play that I have watched. As LA said, I get around!

All the other statements are a smoke screen for zero. I bring this up because you have a lot to say about this team but you have never seen them. Seeing and knowing a few individuals is different from seeing the collective. This years team is entirely different from last year so making comments from what you observed in the past is a little presumptuous.

 

Now to others claiming to know so much about sk defense. I couldn't disagree more. The defense has been non-existent the past few weeks and they actually need to be more physical. To borrow from coach cal when his team complained about the physicality of the other team ". ....then you need to sit because you aren't ready for this level...." I think the impetuous for this comment is trying to prepare his team for tourney time when it does get a little rougher. Sk doesn't hold girls or keep their hands all over their player like you want everyone to think.

 

Now for physical play, how about Meir having girls pushing a knee into her when posting, two hands literally pushing her when posting or shooting etc? Isn't that a point of emphasis this year? No bent elbows with forearms, not even one hand on post player? So... If a ref is doing their job, the perimeter defensive player will be called for a foul as soon as they extend their hand to touch the offensive player and the same would be said for post play. Would be nice if called that way.

A lot to say about this team??? What did I say about the team other than physical play and hands on ya, which has been their style for along time and I can think of at least 3-4 other people from other schools have said at one point or another this year! It's the way SK plays. This year. Last year. In all recent years. Other than that, please show me what I said about "this team". And why are you coming at me. Many others have said way more than me about the actual team. So again, is all of this just because I said they play physical and hand check? Wow! And its my opinion of how SK plays. And I didn't say it's a bad thing! I love physical defense and its exactly what I teach! Sorry you don't agree with my opinion of SK's style. You act like I'm putting down the kids! Not the case. Get over it!

I'm really not trying to pick a fight but i do find it so humorous how people make assumptions or 'in general' comments about teams they have never seen. As you say, many other comments were made about this years team and how this is an entirely different team due to the loss of 7 or 8 seniors. But somehow they are the same team when its convenient.

My comments are about "the progam" and how that program plays and what they are known for! Plug in any player or team you want. I don't care! You are turning it to the kids and I've have been talking about the program. It's been that way for awhile now. There is a distinct reason hhs likes to play SK at the end of year...beacause they play physical. It's the reason hhs schedules it right before post season. And I have never said it was bad how they play. Again, I teach the exact same thing! Why do you take offense to it. I'm not even sure what has you all tied up in a hissy. Please show me what got under your skin.

"We"? So you have access to the tape because you're part of the program and the "we"? You say we like you are part of the team. I think if it's team film, the administration would have a say on whether it gets sent to KHSAA and probably already made the decision not to. Are you saying you could make that happen?? Hmmmmm?? So those are threats you can control??

Since you have been out of aau bball for several years and SK has only 2 seniors and 1 junior on the team, who specifically would you like to take credit for developing?

OK.... back to topic. When you say 'program'. I've got to assume this entire thread is about the Varsity Girls teams. If that is the case, then aren't we talking about that particular team. Call it program, regional team or whatever, we are talking specifically about the girls varsity team. When referencing the girls varsity team. That is comprised of the kids. Therefore that is who this is about. Follow?

 

I believe you reference how SK 'hand checks a lot on defense' something to that effect. You teach that? I sure don't because a good crew will eat my team up. I also don't view those comments as positive as I take that in a negative view as I believe that is how you presented it. I also don't have a problem with physical play as long as its not dirty with bad intentions.

 

The rest of my comments is not worth my time going back thru multiple threads etc... This year you have had a lot to say about this group and how they play and even where they compare to the rest in NKY etc... My whole point is you haven't even seen them play. Have you even seen them on tape? Throw me a bone here so I can find some credibility with your comments. That's all I'm saying.

 

If you haven't seen them then say what most say on here. I'm not sure I can answer that as I haven't seen either team.

 

Your Highlands team is a very solid team and you should be proud. I'm just not a believer in cutting others (not saying you are here) down so I look bigger. There can be 5+ top teams in NKY and I think that's awesome.
