Sanu and Iloka get big pay raises based on 2014 performance

Featured Replies

Per Harvey, Sanu and Iloka fell into some of the new stipulations in the Collective Bargaining Agreement that was ratified in 2011.

Among those receiving modest bumps were receiver Mohamed Sanu andGeorge Iloka, two players who were eligible for raises because of the league's latest collective bargaining agreement. The CBA stipulates that players drafted in Rounds 3-7 in 2012 (Sanu was a third-round selection; Iloka was a fifth) can receive raises of close to $1 million this offseason if they played 35 percent of the offensive or defensive snaps in two of the last three years.

As a result, Sanu's salary for 2015 moved up from $680,000 to about $1.6 million. Iloka's moved from $660,000 to that same approximate $1.6 million figure.

Doesn't really change much. As they sit currently based off what I read, the Bengals will be around 110 million and the estimated Salary Cap for next year is expected to be just less than 150 million. So as I mentioned in the AJ Green thread, the Bengals are not going to handicap themselves by signing Green. Especially since they can get out of the Dalton contract the very next year if he fails again. So unless they can get a top QB in return for Green, there is no reason not to keep him.

I was posting this as a pat on the back to Sanu and Iloka. And, I didn't realize the CBA included those kind of elevators but I am sure glad they do.

I be honest I didn't realize that either, until I read this same article yesterday. George Illoka IMO has quietly turned into one of the better safeties in the NFL. He was a bright spot for the Bengals this year IMO.

Except for when he is in space trying to tackle a back. Looks as bad as Mualuga trying to do it .
