Louisiana Tech 69 Western Kentucky 56

Rough night for my Hilltoppers. To many turnovers. Huge run by LA Tech to open 2nd half really decided the game. On to the next one boys!

LA Tech is the class of that league.

Not even close. Old Dominion is, far and away, the class of CUSA this year. The Monarchs are the only league team that will even be bubble-worthy in terms of an at-large selection.

Against the Top 100: ODU is 6-2. LaTech is 2-4.

FWIW, Kenpom has Old Dominion #63 and Louisiana Tech #78. UTEP, who Western Kentucky beat, is #93 while Western is #110. Old Dominion does have league losses to Middle Tennessee, UAB, and...Western Kentucky. Old Dominion and Louisiana Tech only play once this season and not until February 21.

Okay.

ODU will end the year with an RPI around 40-45 and LaTech's will be around 80+. If your best win is UTEP (or WKU), your resume' is south of entry level. ODU's best win is VCU, who is really good.

...

Either way, we are talking about the best team in the 15th or 16th best league....so it matters very little in the grand scheme of things.

I wasn't being critical. I was basically just saying it's a circular league that has shown almost any of their top four can beat each other. Even with that win over VCU, I'd still be surprised to see Old Dominion make it without winning the conference tournament.

Me too, but they will be in the discussion.

By the way, I'd 10-to-1 rather a team like Old Dominion make it as an at-large than some 9-9 "power" team like N.C. State or St. John's.

I actually forgot about Old Dominion in my drunken condition. Haha

Agreed, and worry not, I think both of those are going to be well out of consideration (minus some craziness in the last 5 weeks). :thumb:
