But Marshawn Lynch is an arrogant brat. You don't get to pick and choose which parts of your job you partake in. My job says I have to run meetings, make executive presentations, audit documentation, etc. I can't say "Boss, I'm only here so you don't fire me. But I'm not going to present or talk to the CEO or team today." That would land me without a job. Are the media interviews necessary? No. But as of right now it's a known component of the career and he signed on to it.

We do the bare minimum at a required task at our job and like you said, we'd be out of a job. He's the best player on his team. They aren't going to do a dang thing to him.

I'm all for hearing a good interview. I'm against the league telling the players they have to do interviews. No value added.

Yep. Even if the leagues didn't mandate them, there'd still be guys who gave good (and even bad) interviews because there are plenty of people that it's just a part of their personality.

My brother plays a pro sport. I get it, completely. I see it happening all the time within his teams. Most I've met are normal great guys who just have a really fun career. But there are a handful who are arrogant, entitled, rude, disrespectful because of the mindset that they're invaluable or untouchable. It's obnoxious.

 

BTW, Marshawn sure seemed to get over his shyness and anxiety on Conan.
