BadCat Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Estill jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, but Corey Thomas settled in, Lee scored the next 9 before Estill picked up one in top of the seventh. Nice district win for Lee.
The Professor Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Lee County is a force. I think they're the # 1 team in the region. They don't play Leslie County until mid-May, so we can only guess which team is the better, but I'm going with Lee. They have everyone back from last year, a great coach, deep pitching staff, solid defense........the whole package. It will take a huge effort to beat them.
baseballmomma Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Good win Lee Co. Its definitely a shame that Lee and Leslie don't play each other until the last week of the season. These 2 teams are so evenly matched. Everyone has to continue guessing which team to rank #1 in the 14th polls. When does Lee Co play again in the all A tournament and who do they play?
KIDS FAN Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Both teams looked a little shaky but it is early. Lee, as always put the ball in play. Estill looked a little weak defensively and just didn't have the drive to put it away early. Lee could have been down by 6 or 7 in the first before Thomas got settled in. He looked great at times. Estill also had a couple of costly baserunning errors. Estill will be a team that will compete for the 14th regional title by seasons end but Lee is the favorite in my mind. No offense to Leslie but I haven't seen them play yet but I will this weekend. The 56th is loaded if Powell has what everyone thinks and Owsley is half as good as they are advertised on BGP.
LeeCoBobcatFan Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Good win for the Bobcats, and great to see Thomas battle back from a four run deficit to win the ballgame. I don't believe I have seen a player in quite some time that plays with the emotion that Thomas does! Christopher for the Engineers appears to be just as talented in baseball as he is in basketball. The field looks great. Wonder if Coach Combs would like to offer landscaping advice on my yard
KIDS FAN Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Every school would be fortunate to have a coach that worked that hard on their facilities. Wonderful facility. needs lights!
