Wayne County 85 Dunbar 84

Featured Replies

Was this game not played at a neutral site? Was the other games called bad against the out of region teams? By the way I already know the answer to these questions.

My last comment will be this....

Coach Woods apologized to the Dunbar coaching staff in the hallway at Southwestern after the game before getting on the bus. He said they didn't deserve to win the game and wished the Bulldogs best of luck the rest of the season.

I'm not taking anything away from Wayne County or their players and coaches. Rodney has been winning for years for a reason. He can flat out coach and his kids always play hard. Peyton Woods is a heck of a player and one of the better shooters I've seen play. Those kids never stop playing hard and always compete.

Only game I've ever left as a loser and felt like we won the game. As upset as I was immediately after the game I was super proud of our kids for playing as well as they did and not losing their cool. Both teams players were respectful to each other and congratulated one another after the game. That's how it should be. Best of luck to Wayne County the rest of the year.

Well...that's because I was pretty sore that our team lost like that. I actually tried to have my post removed, but it was too late. As I said, I meant no disrespect to Wayne Co team. They truly played the whole time and never gave up. The strategy to slow the game and drive the lane to get fouled was the right call for the team and it shows how well coached and smart the players were to be able to flawlessly execute this for such an extended period of time. The abilities of the players, coaches, and the way they played I never faulted and I greatly respect their effort. I still disagree with the way I thought the officiating seemed imbalanced, but I'm sure WC fans would feel the same if the outcome were different. You pretty much said that the officials give unsolicited favorable calls to the home team because that is who grades them ... and that's the way I saw it too.

Dunbar I think actually had 3 foul out and 3 with 4 fouls.

Who was the kid referring to when he said "They're cheating?"

I'm sure he would NEVER be saying that about the Officials. I mean no kid would ever think that with the way all of their parents act.

Thats the class of Rodney Woods. You guys played hard and well enough to win the game, but our kids deserved to win also. We certainly never shot the ball good most of the game but these kids will never stop playing no matter the score. Less teams would have quit when they got 21 points behind but in 29 years of being lucky enough to have Coach Woods at Wayne Co I have not seen one of his teams not play to final score. This cheating referees thing started last year after we played Clay Co at our place. That was one of the most physical hs basketball games I have ever witnessed. Clay came prepared to play that way cause im sure they thought we were soft. I dont have statistics but I would say the fouls were very close in number, so truth99 if you know what they were please share, and like I told you last week when we come over to your place and if we may get lucky enough to win there then will you stop your belly aching about the theft you got at Wayne Co last year. Clay is a really good team and it will take a mighty effort to beat them, but please show us same respect and I hope someway we use 13th region officials.

Rule 1 and Rule 13

Anyone got a youtube of this game or a link to a stream? I'd like to watch it again with a more objective eye, plus now that I've had a chance to relax, I think I missed a pretty good game cause I was all worked up.
