Not at all. Mayfield thumped those guys! Home cooking doesn't put 91 points on the board. Actually Carlisle Co led the foul battle all night meaning they had less fouls than Mayfield most of the night. Home cooking is calling

a foul against Mayfield with .06 seconds on a half court heave to put Carlisle on the line to win the game.

Semifinals tonight:

#1 Murray vs. #4 Mayfield: Murray looked unbeatable the other night against Fulton County but they were playing a weaker opponent. Tonight they have Mayfield and the Cardinals have home court advantage which should help. Mayfield shot lights out on Wednesday against Carlisle County. If Felts and Bacon can continue that shooting they have a chance to upset the #1 seed. Murray's depth is a big key. They go 10-12 deep some nights. The return of 6'4 guard James Boone is big as well as it gives them another offensive weapon. Murray pressing and traps everywhere on the floor. If Mayfield can handle that pressure and the initial traps and score easy buckets then they can hang with Murray. Another key for Mayfield is stopping Murray on the inside. Hornbuckle, Clark, and Sheppard are much bigger than Mayfield's post players.

#2 Ballard Memorial vs. #3 St. Mary:

this would be the 3rd time that these teams have already played. They have split both their game with both teams winning by 8. The Bombers beat the Vikings without their leading scorer Keagan Cooper, who is averaging 17.7. The key for Ballard this year is their depth and their depth of scoring. They have several that are capable of having big nights, Cody Newton, 9.0, Clay Newton, 8.7, Bledsoe, 7.5, Parsons, 7.4, Chandler, 6.5 and Terrell, 5.8. The Vikings are led in scoring by Ben Hooper and Austin Hubert both averaging 13 points a game. Davis Sims and Payton Smith both chip in 9 points each to help with scoring.

St. Mary plays great defense and has the shooters to win this game. Ballard maybe the most up and down team in the region. One night they look great and the next look terrible. They didn't play very well in their 1st game against Hickman County so this maybe the game they play well.

Should be 2 good games.

Should be a Mayfield/Murray Championship game. At home Mayfield beats both Ballard and St Mary. Oh well.

I can't argue that.

Finals tonight @ 8:00 @ Mayfield HS.

#1 Murray vs. #2 Ballard Memorial

This is what I predicted in the preview. Only missed one game so far so let's see if I can get this one right.

Murray beat Ballard Memorial on the road the 1st time 60-52 but it was a one possession game with 1:30 to go. Ballard played without leading scorer Keagan Cooper and Dre Bledsoe. They both were out with injuries. They are both back now. Murray struggled early last night but put Mayfield away in the 2nd half. Duane Curtis hit 3 straight 3 pointers in the 3rd quarter to stretch out the lead for the Tigers. Their press and 3 point shooting finally won out. Ballard came back from an early 12 point deficit and was down 46-41 with a minute to go. A big 3 by Chandler cut it to 46-44 then a steal by Wray and a lay-up tied it up. St. Mary turned it over again and Cooper hit Free throws to take their first lead of the game at 47-46.

This game will come down to if Ballard can handle the multiple trapping defenses of Murray. Ballard has played without starting point guard, Tolar Terrell, this week. He has been out due to the flu. Wray has stepped in and played well in his absence. He will have to be big tonight if they want to pull of the upset. Murray will play their game mixing trapping defenses with lots of 3 point shooting. English, Curtis, and Flener are all capable 3 pint shooters. Ballard is going to have to someone step up and score along with Cooper. If Cooper has a big game, they get a couple of others to score, and if Wray can handle Murray's pressure they have a chance.

Prediction: I said in last night's predictions that Ballard was the most up and down team in the region. 1st round they were down, semifinals they were up so I am going with the same philosophy. Murray gets them by 10 tonight. It will be a clean sweep for Murray as they will win both the girls and boys' All A regionals.

Pretty sad that the 1st region can't have the games on a neutral court. Mayfield defiantly had a clear advantage.

It rotates ever year where its played so you have to wait your turn for home court advantage..that's pretty fair.

No it doesn't. Since the late 90s it has been on a neutral court. Racer Arena, The Bank, Graves county, and Paducah Tilghman. This is the 1st time since at least 97 that it was at an All A school.
