January 14, 201511 yr It was suggested in another discussion that Hawkins be used more to bring a spark for UK and then tonight he started. Is Cal reading BGP? Who is the prophetic poster who made this suggestion? I was hoping Hawkins would get into the game and bring some energy, at least he would try and get some of those long rebounds and loose balls that some of the players seem to have no interest in trying to get. Bonus points; Who said this in response? Not going to happen. That would be Cal admitting that some of these guys are not draft picks and he cannot do that......hurting their draft stock would be a death blow to his recruiting. and Those guys (Hawkins and Willis) are after thoughts, only recruited because Cal did not want to get Lofton'd, etc. If he plays those guys he is admitting the lottery picks can't do something, whether that is play with energy, pride, or shoot the ball.....doesn't matter. He is also admitting that he himself can't motivate them or coach them to do what needs to be done and has to resort to playing walk-ons etc.

Calipari decided that what his team needed was a player he hadn't even brought off the bench since Dec. 20. What the Cats needed was more Dominique Hawkins.
