Dana Altman sued for poor recruiting practices?

Student sues U. of Oregon after claiming rape by players

 

The suit alleging negligence and civil rights violations was filed Thursday in federal court in Eugene.

 

It alleges Altman knew when he recruited Brandon Austin that the player had been suspended from Providence College due to allegations of sexual misconduct.

 

Will this open a whole new can of worms for coaches recruiting players with dubious backgrounds?

 

This could end up really changing who does and doesn't get recruited.

It will only have ramifications if Altman loses this suit.

 

Any lawyers want to share their opinions on this case?

I hope she wins this suit and includes the NCAA in the suit. So many kids with drug and violence in their histories, but still get aggressively recruited at the expense of less talented, but vastly higher character kids. I would hesitate to send my kid to play FBS ball between the low character kids and kids that are not there for an education.

Before coming into this thread, I would have bet money that it was about his other recruiting practices.
