It is crazy to see someone so talented in college play in a pro style system then come to the NFL and flop. I know it happens all the time, but this one surprised me. I thought for sure he would be a solid, if not pro bowl kind of RB.

 

He had a scope on his knee after college and before he reported to the Browns. I don't know if that made a difference and turned out to be a worse problem than everyone thought. I was angry when Banner made that deal with the Colts during the season because I thought it meant he was giving up on the season. Turns out he was absolutely right and duped the Colts.

Jim Brown usually speaks his mind. He doesn't much care what people think of him. After the Browns drafted Richardson he was asked what he thought of him. Brown said he is "ordinary." When queried again, he repeated himself and said that Trent Richardson was an ordinary running back, nothing special there. Of course the media stumbled all over themselves to get to TR and ask what he made of Jim Brown's comments. TR took the high road and spoke about how much he respects Brown and couldn't wait to meet him.

 

When asked further about his comment (Brown was asked over and over about it), he claimed that he only said that to motivate the young man. I believe his first assessment was what he actually thought. Later, he modified it because he realized that it wasn't helpful to TR or the Browns, which is something he does care about.
