First off, Good Game Eagles. Second, Knott County looked solid tonight. They have a good Defense But may lack some pitching. This game started a little slow, but leslie started to hit the ball in the mid innings.

Leslie looked good to only have 5 or 6 team pratices.

Congrats to Shannon Roberts on a crushing homerun.

The talk of knott's catcher being good, i would confirm it. Looks solid, and has a nice arm. I would rank him as one of the best catcher's in the region.

Morgan looked real good on the mound. Morehead had a scout with a Juggs gun and clocked him at around 84. I would say, right now, that Morgan is probably tops in the region. Hendrix struggled at the plate, but looked good on defense.

KCC did struggle at the plate. But defense was very solid with only one error. Like GOTT said, Smith was great behind the plate. He caught one stealing and had 4 more PO's. The Pats played well tonight. They'll get those bats going.

First off, Thank you GOTT for the nice comments regarding KCC. Congrats to the Eagles on the win tonight. They have a very good hitting ball club. And whoever said that Morgan was the only pitcher that Leslie has dont know a lick about baseball. Hendrix and Roberts both looked solid on the mound and will be as good as any other pitchers in the 14th. As for KCC, the score was not indicative of how they played. KCC did indeed play a great defensive game but just couldnt get the bats going. KCC led the ballgame 1-0 for nearly half the game but had one miserable inning where they gave up 6 runs. Evan Potter(the 7th grader) started and pitched pretty well tonight aside from the one bad inning. The Patriots will definitely compete with the best in the 14th this season. All excuses aside, Leslie is a good team and should have a great season.

Why in the heck is a 7th grader pitching in a varsity game....what a joke..there is no way the kid can be physically or mentally ready unless the quality of ball is really sub standard.Maybe at the freshman level and thats a maybe.....the kids confidence will be raked through the coals and i cant imagine what his arm will be like 5 years from now if he doesnt take one in the mug before that....what a joke:irked:

Good game for both teams. Knott has a good team. With the talent and coaching they will be very solid by the end of the season. Leslie looked decent considering they have only practiced a few times. In my opinion they will be the team to beat. Morgan, Roberts and Hendrix looked very solid on the mound. All three pitchers were throwing in the 80s. Good luck to all the teams in the 14th region.

P.S. As for the 7th grader pitching he looked like a senior. He will be a dandy (already is). His coach is smart and I'm sure they will protect his arm.

This 7th grader (Potter) is one of those players that is ahead of most players his age. This kid also pitched against Madison Central and beat them during Summer ball.

Potter only threw about 50 pitches while Morgan pitched over 60. Taking nothing away from Morgan, he pitched a good game.

I was at the game & I talked to Morgan afterwards & he told me that the same guy your talking about from Morehead told him he was throwing 86consistently.

I didn't talk with the scout himself. Someone that was looking said that a couple of times it it 84.

Yea 86 was straight out of the coach's mouth who talked to the scout. Morgan had a decent game not near his best though. Congrats to Roberts on the homer.
