Class "A" District 7 preview.

How is everyone's spring practice going?

Doesn't it make you sick that our district never gets any praise in the region, all you ever hear on this thing is Pikeville, that is only one team. I think top to bottom we have best district. Am I just that bias

What do you mean? The Region 4 Champion in 2005 was from district 7. I agree with the statement on Pikeville as they are a tough team. IMO, district 7 could be one of the stronger districts in region 4.

I still think that it will be a drop off considering Jimmy went to a D-1 school, that is a hard talent to replace, but I have been wrong before. Harlan does have my favorite as being the dark horse, but is it true that the defensive c is leaving? That would have to hurt that program. Still watch out for the skins :ylsuper:

Of course you can't replace Jimmy Chaffin or Josh Reynolds, those type of players don't come around every year. As far as tailbacks goes, Joe Roskopf is one of the best we have had. If he stays healthy, and the oline stays healthy Joe is going to have a big year.

Without the 3 poweful backs that LC has had in the past, will they continue to run the 3 back "Wishbone" Type offense? Or will it be more pass than we have seen in the past?

We are going to throw it every down next year.;):D

We are going to throw it every down next year.;):D

Why am i telling myself not to believe that!;)

I just get tired of hearing about the other district, but all I want my skins to do is make the playoffs.

Again, I think that the champs are still the champs, and two through four is going to be a dog fight.

I think somerset will be a little down, just because of how talented they were last year, it is just hard to repeat, ask Williamsburg.

The last three years have gone like this; correct me if I am wrong,

Somerset, Williamsburg, Sumerset, and Harlan and Lynn Camp in second place.

So I must say that my team's goal is to beat the burg. I have not forgotten about the 80-14 game at their place. I know a few years later we got them at our place, pretty handly. I look forward to this year.:fight:

We are going to throw it every down next year.;):D

Lcc99 will that make you all "Williamsburg Lite"....lmao:jump:

LC99: I have to agree with you, saw Lynn Camp several times last year and I honestly thought Rosskopf was the best running back of the stable.

How about some stats on this Lutrell kid. I know of his father and knew his brother pretty well. How does he look as far as speed and size? What class is he going to be in? Also, is there any truth to the rumor that is going around concerning the posibility that defensive guru Eric Perry will no longer be there next year and Frank Shope will be calling the defensive shots? :sssh:

I'm not sure about Lutrell's stats, however he'll be in my grade (junior) this upcoming season. And as far as the Coach Perry question, the story I've heared is that he is going back to school to receive his master's degree I think, but he will still analyze the film with the coaches on the weekend and prepare a defensive game plan on the weekends, however Coach Shope will also be assisting in that and will be there to call the shots. Back to Lutrell, through our weighlifting and agility exercises, he hasn't "maxed-out" with us yet, but his reps on bench, clean, and squat are pretty strong from what I can tell. He's very fast and cuts very well! If I were guessing he's probably around a 4.6 forty? He's got the pedigree to be an excellent player.

I know a lot of people tend to overlook the non-district schedule when determining the best teams in a district for the following year. However, playing some higher quality teams outside of a weaker district can do a lot to get your team ready for district competition during/throughout the year. With that being said, lets hear some of your respetive teams non-district schedules...

Usually year in and year out Lynn Camp will play one of the toughest in the district, and this year is no exception. LC plays Leslie County, who losses some good player off a 9 and 2 team but return the Howard kid who is as good as any back in the mts. Middlesboro is returning almost their entire team, and should be a high top ten team in 2A. Perry Central had a bad year last year, but return the Willis kid, and being a 3A team, and playing up their could be a very tough game. Whitley County rounds out the non district schedule. Last season Lynn Camp beat Whitley for the first time in 15 years. Whitley returns a lot good young talent, and is large in numbers, size, and strength this will be a very physical game for Lynn Camp.

I think that this is absolutely true but again I am going to tell you that every does not need to underestimate my skins. I think we have a real shot, just because of what the district has lost
