It may be a little brisk this AM.:isurrender: I still plan to participate....we will see about Mrs. Doomer. My goal will be to start and finish. I am not sure of it I will actually jog since I may have on 20 pounds of clothes. :idunno:

On my way now. Riding in a Unity Baptist Church van. I'll have on a Amy For Africa hoodie. Look for me.

Have fun, you guys!

Will do! I only live 5 minutes away. As I understand the registration starts at 9..."run" at 10.

I will advise what I will wear when I decide.

I just decided...maybe I will wear my black truck. :lol2:

It was..errr..fun. Nice to be home with an ice pack on my knee now haha. It was good to meet LRCW, and we have some friends in common. Mrs Doomer did very well. She's been sandbagging on me.

Great to meet you and Mrs. Doomer as well. That course absolutely kicked my butt. I'll be recovering for days.

Yep it was tough on me too.

Did you two enjoy trail running?

It was good. They were harder and more narrow than I expected....they were paths, and covered with leaves and slippery in a lot of spots with long up and down hills. I had two face plants and a nice bruise and cut on one knee. However, my goal was to jog the whole thing, and I pretty much made it...one was almost climbing on a few switchbacks. I don't know LRCW's opinion.

This is the link to the trail route. Now I know why I was so tired....the up and downs can be seen here. I will do it again next year though! Also, for anyone looking for an easy and inexpensive thing to do, I highly recommend a trip to Salato Wildlife Education Center. It is only a few dollars to get in for adults, and there is an inside museum plus outside exhibits of native Kentucky animals who for the most part were rescued and cannot return to the wild...elk, bear, deer, eg. We took our grandkids recently, and they really enjoyed it. It is on US 60 just West of Frankfort.

I agree with pretty much everything Doomer stated. I didn't have any face plants, but that was because I walked pretty much the while trail instead of jogging. If I had attempted to jog I would have had many face plants. It was definitely a very tough course for me. The hills about killed me, but I enjoyed the walk in the cold air, and had a good time. It took me much longer than I anticipated a 4 mile walk would take me, but I really wasn't expecting the trail to be as narrow and slippery as it was. I will probably do it again next year, and hopefully I will be in better shape, and better prepared for a trail run.
