I think at the end of the day Ryle is the only team who can make a run at ND...jmo. St. Henry and Cooper are strong but I just like Ryles matchup the best....like I said jmo.

I've seen NDA Ryle NCC and St. Henry. IMO the 9th is NDAs to lose. However, anyone is beatable, even by those they have already beaten. Just ask Mercy about Sacred Heart. If the others can bring their "A" game and get a few breaks, there's always a chance.

Cooper is a newer school compared to the others. Probably more records will be broken and some better athletes may enter and the numbers may also reflect it's newness and lack of long history. Also, ALL teams are plagued with illnesses and injuries, even the lesser teams. Is it just me or are we seeing a lot more players with rolled ankles this year? I hope all the girls stay healthy. I am going to the 6pm game tonight and am looking forward to seeing who I feel are the two best teams in the region, play.

They have shown it... just not necessarily against NDA. They only play once... and there is no way to SHOW IT if you didn't the first time till now.

 

 

Now with that said, I believe NDA wins for one reason. No it's not that they are superior athletes. It's because they have a superior athlete! Morgan Hentz is the real deal. The other girls are good, but there's a reason why she made TEAM USA's Top 48 Players last year in her Division. Shes a complete stud and no one on either side of the net on 2 courts can play like she does. She's the difference maker.

 

Without her I'm not sure NDA could make it out of the semi's. That's how much I believe in her play.

Morgan Hentz is an incredible player. The real deal. Everything she is billed to be BUT anyone who knows anything, knows volleyball is the ultimate team sport. Morgan cannot do it alone and hasn't done it alone all season. This NDA team is what it is because Morgan plays like she does and at least two other players step up. Abby Thelen has been invaluable in almost every big match. Madison Salkowski and/or Hanna Knaley stepped up huge in the Sacred Heart match and others. And the steady setting of Hanna Talkers has been largely ignored by the media but anyone who watches NDA play can see what she does night in and night out.

 

Unlike other sports where one player can dominate that doesn't really happen in volleyball. Morgan makes those around her better and is incredible but please let's not do this to this team. We had enough of this "superstar" stuff last year to last for a generation and we all know how that turned out.

Look, I could get a lot more specific in dissing players from other schools who Morgan would be playing with if she went there, but that's not my style.

 

Of all the players in NKy there are four that would, in my opinion, play over who nda currently has starting.

 

A. Bush would set (over Talkers) and hit right side over Knaley

 

H. Bush would set (over Talkers) and hit outside over Sara Draud

 

K. Smith would compete with Salkowski in the middle.

 

R. McDonald world compete with the Bushes for hitting time.

 

So you put Morgan on any other team in NKy and the supporting crew is not there. Maybe Ryle beats NDA with Morgan but no one else would. Games would be more interesting, but the Pandas still prevail. We are just too strong top to bottom.

 

And I haven't even mentioned S. Saelinger and H. Colvin's stellar back row play all season. Best in NKy.

 

Morgan rocks and works hard and puts her team first and I am darn glad she is a Panda but NDA has ALWAYS dominated NKy volleyball and that will continue long after Morgan is gone. There are lots of little girls working hard who can't wait to put on that uniform.
