Thursday Night Football at Newport Stadium

Game time is 7:00

This is the 1st of two straight Thursday night games for the Breds, as they play Holy Cross the following Thursday.

It's the battle for bragging rights among the Campbell County "fish-eaters", as NewCath (2-4) takes on it's neighbors from the southern end of the county, Bishop Brossart (1-5). The 'Stangs are led by Sr. QB Clay Kramer, Sr. WR Garrett Ahlbrand, & Jr. RB Frank Cetrulo. Brossart is coming off a very respectable showing, a 49-28 loss to the Lloyd Juggernauts.

While the majority of these players have grown up being close friends and going to grade school with one another, when it comes to this game, it's all business. Since these two began playing one another, in the 2011 season, it's been all NewCath, as the Mustangs have yet to score a single point on the Breds in 3 games.

2011 - NewCath 62-0

2012 - NewCath 58-0

2013 - NewCath 41-0

A couple of questions?

1. Is this the year the 'Stangs "dent" the scoreboard against the Breds?

2. Do the Breds put the "running clock" on the 'Stangs a 4th straight year?

What say you?

Its nice you put up a poll but, I think it will be as lopsided as the score. I applaud the Brossart community and Coach Wiggins for standing up and fighting for a worthy cause. I also think the Admin at Brossart should consider placing this entire team in their Hall of Fame because of the circumstances this team faced in the beginning of the season. These kids came out and supported a program and has given it the possiblilty of surviving in 1a next year. NCC by a lot.

I would agree, a big "tip of the cap" to these young men. :ylsuper:

NCC has def been in a few games with a lopsided scoreboard this season and it def is not any fun for the players or fans. Knowing the Breds will win big Thurs I'm sure we are all hoping everyone comes out of this game injury free. Hats off to Brossart and all they are trying to do with their program.

Give new AD Adam Franzen and the Brossart administration credit for sticking to their guns and playing their 2A schedule. I'm sure the KHSAA wouldnt have been very happy with an independent schedule but they still could have really screwed their 2A district foes with another off week. The last 3 scores were lopsided but NCC has been more than classy and it wont change this year. Their goal will be to get to a 36pt lead as soon as possible and play the younger guys. Brossart will compete in their 1A district next year as well they should. Hope everyone stays healthy for the both teams.

Game in on Thursday, 10/16 @ NewCath (Newport field) 7pm.

Who wins and why?

What do you hope to see from each team?

Already a thread and Prediction poll on this.

Thanks. Couldn't find it. I'll ask a mod to close this one.

Running clock and everyone leaves at halftime due to Thursday night game.

Definitely. NCC has shown great class in this series. :thumb: NCC will obviously want the running clock but a good week to get some kids healthy if nursing any nagging injuries.
