How often do you clean your hand guns.

Featured Replies

I've cleaned my XD every time I've gone to the range. Usually 50-75 rounds per trip.

That many rounds down range isn't worth the gas!

I clean mine after every trip to the range. I enjoy it and a dirty bore will keep me up at night. I have seen a Glock fire perfectly fine after 700 rounds and no cleaning, won't ever be mine though. My brother cleans his AR every 600 rounds, I disagree with him on it but he's military and I'm not.

At least run a snake or patch through with some CLP at the least. Most ammo is not corrosive today, so chances are the gun will always perform but I can't leave carbon in something I've paid hundreds of dollars for lol.

Every time I've shot this one, it's been extremely spur of the moment... So I would just stop at Wal-Mart on the way and grab a box or two.

Well it's better than no shooting. Hopefully, it's broken in and performs very well. Do you run a patch or a snake afterward?

I've done both. It's the first gun I've personally owned, so I haven't decided which cleaning method I like the most yet...

Yeah I do both as well.. I'll use my snake (cause it's quicker/easier) then test 1 patch to make sure it comes out clean. CLP has worked well for me.

The snake definitely seems to be easier.
