Clark County 2014/15

Basketball season for 2014/2015 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from GRC? Remember, please be constructive.

Believe GRC will be the favorite to win the region. We return the #1 player in the region with Sandra Skinner, along with Anderson and others. Very well coached team and will be on a mission to repeat and do well at state again this coming year. High expectation for this group. Bulls-eye is on their back for sure.

There is going to be a lot of pressure on GRC to repeat their trip to the Sweet 16 and another possible deep run like they did last year. While the Cardinals should repeat this year, it will not be without challenges from a host of 10th Region teams.

Cardinals lost two starters from last years Final Four team, but have plenty of players who saw quality minutes who will come in to the line up to start. Sandra Skinner (signed with VCU) will be the #1 player in the region and I would expect with her signing early to be able to play a more relaxed game. The other Senior, Paige Taylor, should be running the offense with several other players picking up time running the point.

Cardinals will again play a very tough schedule that will help prepare them for another great post-season run. I would expect GRC to run 8-9 players deep for every game - and if they can play to the same level as last year; they should make another deep run.

Good post. I believe the tough schedule really helped GRC last year and look for the same this year.

Who are some of the other players that will contribute this year and did tthey have any freshmen coming in that may contriiibute this year?

Paige Taylor will play an important part. She is a returning starter and Senior. Look for Elizabeth Hardiman, a 6'3 or 6'4 Sophomore. She was an important sub on the varsity last year. MNCM is going to give us more in-depth later today.

Let's rock Letcher Norton Gymnasium this year, Lady Cardinals!

Coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history, the George Rogers Clark High School girls basketball team is starting over.

“No one cares about what you did last year,” Clark girls basketball coach Robbie Graham said. “It was a tremendous accomplishment, but unfortunately you can’t live in the past, you have to move forward. The teams we play are not going to bow down to us because of the year we had last year.

“Our focus is to stay humble, stay hungry and work hard. We want to take care of those three things. If we can do those three things, I think we can have another successful year.”

The Lady Cardinals lost seniors Lexxus Graham and Maddie Hamlin from last year’s starting five, but return a nucleus of a 27-8 squad that lost to Elizabethtown in the Sweet Sixteen semifinals.
